Welcome!
Please be patient.
I'm a work in progress!
Lot's of code stuff coming soon!!

Making a text link to an image.

Hi,

I hope I can explain this well enough for you to understand. I'm not too good at giving directions but am always willing to try anyway!

First of all, in case you don't know this important step, you have to have your pictures stored somewhere on the web. I have mine stored at picturetrail.com. For $20.00 a year you can store up to 500 pictures! Another place to store your pictures is photobucket.com. This one is free but ask for a small donation to help pay for their service. Both have tools to help you upload your pictures with ease!

Once you have that part done all you need to do is copy the URL to each flower picture you want to use from where you have them stored. If the place you have the pictures stored doesn't give the URL to your pics automatically below each picture,(photobucket.com does this for you, picturetrail.com has a link that you click to get the URL so you can copy and paste the url into your code)otherwise you just right click on each picture, a window will open. Click on properties at the bottom. Another window will open and you will see a long code. That is your URL, Highlight the entire code, right click on it, then choose copy.

Next you will want to open another window so you have one window open where your pictures are stored and one open to your GW edit page. Easier to copy and paste back and forth that way.

(Here's an example code This is similar to what the code will look like when we are done. You will need to change a few things, See "Next step" below)

Next Step...
I have color coded each step to help make it easier for you. In your "edit my exchange page" at GW, type the code in blue(see above) where you want a link to your picture in your trade list. Once you have that typed in you need the URL to your picture. For example, the code in red is the URL to one of my pictures. What you want to do here is replace all the code in red with the URL to your own picture by pasteing it in place where my URL appears in red. You don't want any spaces between the text except exactly where you see them above! Otherwise your link will not work. The code in black will make your image open in a new window. Note the space between the " and Target.

Once you have the URL in place you're ready for the next step.

Almost done!
Where you see the text Orange Noah in purple, replace that with the name of the seed/plants you have the picture linked to. For exampe. If your picture is of a Fairy Rose, then type that where I have Orange Noah. That's it! Just hit submit at the bottom and you have a text link to your picture! Go to your trade list and check to see if it is working properly. If not, hit the back button and check that everything is done exactly and the spaces in the code are exactly where they should be in my example code.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me! I hope I was able to explain this well enough for you! I tried to get as much detail in as I could and still make sense! (*_*)

Good Luck!
Lynn(DaisiesDream)
